T25-043 Toyota Hybrid ADA – Northstar Manual Ramp Rubber Bump Stop Failure Due to Missing Retaining Bolt

Created by Rudy Quijada, Modified on Tue, 9 Dec at 7:08 AM by Rudy Quijada

The Northstar ADA and Northstar-E manual ramp may experience premature rubber bump stop damage or failure.

The bump stop may bend, deform, or come out completely, especially when the retaining bolt located beneath it is

missing. Continued use without proper bump stop support may lead to ramp misalignment or, in severe cases, the

ramp disengaging from its normal seated position. Technicians will often notice a threaded hole directly beneath the

rubber bump stop. If the Allen-head retaining bolt is not present, the bump stop receives much of the impact while

deploying rather than the Allen-head bolt, causing rapid wear or complete separation.
