T25-016 - Troubleshooting Manual Issue: Toyota Power Kneel Not Lowering

Issue: Power Kneel Not Lowering 

Initial Checks: 

  1. 1. Status of the LED panel – ensure the BTSI/Power light is ON when ramp door is fully OPEN. 

  1. 2. Check the Power Kneel UP/DOWN fuse. 

  1. 3. Verify the Power Kneel override switch is connected 

Diagnostic Questions: 

  1. 1. Does the OPEN command light up when pressing a button? 

  1. 2. Is the Power Kneel switch turned ON? 

  1. 3. Does the OPEN command light up again after switch engagement? 

  1. 4. Are the limit switches installed correctly and connectors secure?  

  1. 5. Unusual noise from actuator while attempting to operate kneel? 

  1. 6. Battery voltage above 12V?  

  1. 7. Backprobe across pins of kneel actuator connector using DVOM, is there voltage? 

Reference Notes & Locations: 

  • 1. Toyota/Honda: Located under the rear bench (passenger side on RU). Fuse box is in the rear driver corner under the plastic cover. 

  • 2. Toyota/RU: The Power Kneel override switch is located under the rear bench. 

  • 3. Honda: The Power Kneel override switch is located on the driver rear quarter panel behind the rear bench.
